Bush model VHF 81 vintage radio

Bush VHF81 radio. Wooden cabinet with a large cream speaker grille, a black tuning scale with a white knob each side and three cream push buttons below the scale

The Bush VHF81 is a British valve radio introduced in 1964, towards the end of the valve-radio era. It is a particularly attractive example of early-1960s domestic radio design, combining a wooden cabinet, traditional AM reception and the then-modern VHF/FM band.

The radio was manufactured by Bush Radio, then part of the Rank Organisation. It used the same chassis and circuitry as the earlier Bush VHF80 and VHF80C, but with an elegant wooden cabinet.
