There are literally hundreds of makes and models of British vintage valve radios. Marconi, HMV, Bush, Ekco, Decca, Defiant, Etronic, GEC, Cossor, Pye, Ferguson, KB… the list goes on and on. It would be impossible to talk in depth about each make and model. However, most radios work on the same principle. The layout might be different, the wave bands might be different, but many radios are of the superhet design.
Do bear this in mind when repairing or restoring a radio you have not come across before. Components are in different locations, there might be push buttons rather than rotary switches, a different valve line-up, a mains transformer rather than a dropper resistor.
