Murphy A72

The Murphy A72 is a wooden-cased British table radio introduced in 1939. It’s an all-wave superheterodyne receiver covering medium wave, long wave and short wave, with a built-in magic-eye tuning indicator. Its six valves are TH41, VP41, HL42DD, ME41, Pen45 and UU6.

It runs on AC mains, with selectable ranges of 100–125 V or 200–250 V. The A72 was designed by R. D. Russell; an optional wired remote control and push-button tuning unit were available.
