The Murphy A186 is a British AC mains table radio, introduced in 1951. Murphy described it as a deluxe “baffle” receiver: its cabinet design was intended to give good sound. It receives medium wave, long wave and short wave broadcasts.
The UK version has six valves: 6C9, 6F15 or 6F16, 6LD20, 6P25, 6M1 tuning indicator, and UU9 or EZ40 rectifier. It runs on 200–250 V AC.
There was also an A186 built in Dublin, with some differences in its valves and circuitry. Have any example checked before powering it up.
