The RAP Model 846 is a British valve radio dating from 1946, made by Radio Acoustic Products. It is particularly interesting because of its high-quality construction, sophisticated radio circuitry and striking appearance. Unlike many ordinary domestic radios produced just after the Second World War, the RAP 846 was designed with several features more commonly associated with expensive communications receivers.
The model is also notable for its unusual modular chassis and a glass rear window through which the valves and polished metalwork could be admired.
The service manual for this radio is available in the Members’ Area.
