The KB LR10 is a British valve radio manufactured by Kolster-Brandes (KB) in 1954. It’s a classic example of a mid-1950s domestic radio, dating from the period before transistor radios became commonplace. The LR10 uses a conventional five-valve circuit, with a dedicated output valve driving the speaker. Its wooden cabinet was typical of the era, when radios were often designed as pieces of household furniture.
The five valves are 6BE6, 6BA6, 6AT6, 6AQ5 and 6X5GT.
The service manual for this radio is available in the Members’ Area.
