The Ferguson 356U is a British four-valve tabletop radio dating from the early 1950s, generally around 1952-1954. It is a good example of the handsome wooden domestic radios that were popular in Britain before transistor sets became widespread.
Its cabinet was finished in walnut veneer, with a gently sloping front, large loudspeaker grille and illuminated tuning scale. It was designed as a substantial household radio rather than a portable set.
The service manual for this radio is available in the Members’ Area.
